The most warlike of all known tribes in the Unhallowed Lands is the Black Face Tribe, violent humans who know nothing but war and respect only power and the authority of the witches of the Coven. They often fight to fulfill the witches’ will, which is conveyed to one of their chieftains, who obeys without question. However, they also frequently war against their neighbors over territory, resources, or prisoners.
The teachings of the Witches have instilled in them a fear of the sky, the place from which the fire that exterminated their entire race once fell. Because of this, they revere the earth and all creatures that arise from it, be they undead or demons from the abyss.
They know of Bal, though they fear him more than they worship him. Their few prayers are directed to the Coven, and their curses are aimed at the heavens that betrayed them.
They take their name from the strange dark mask that conceals their faces, a rite of passage known only to members of the tribe, which results in their warriors’ features being covered, rendering them anonymous (aside from their evident sex). Only the elderly and children are free from this trait, and those who refuse to undergo the mask ritual when the time comes are punished or even exiled to join the Outcasts.
They are degenerate, wrathful, and place no value on human life: they are pawns resigned to a brief and bloody existence, with the only hope of a glimpse of power and glory in this fleeting world. The Bleeder, their current chieftain, aspires to leave a violent mark before his time comes.
